Let Him Be Crucified
Jul 13, 2025 • Chris Cooper
Today we begin our service with believers baptism. Then pastor Chris teaches on the trials of Jesus out of Matthew 27. In Matthew 27:11–26, Jesus stands silently before Pontius Pilate, who finds no fault in Him despite the accusations from the chief priests and elders. Pilate offers to release either Jesus or Barabbas, a known criminal, as part of a Passover custom. Influenced by the religious leaders, the crowd demands Barabbas’s release and calls for Jesus to be crucified. Pilate, though reluctant and warned by his wife’s troubling dream, ultimately gives in to the crowd, washes his hands to symbolize his claimed innocence, and hands Jesus over to be scourged and crucified.
