The "Justice" System

In Matthew 26:57–68, Jesus is brought before Caiaphas the high priest and the assembled religious leaders for a late-night trial. Despite their efforts, they struggle to find credible testimony against Him. Eventually, two witnesses misquote Jesus about destroying the temple, and the high priest demands to know if He is the Messiah. Jesus affirms His identity, declaring that they will see Him seated at the right hand of God and coming on the clouds of heaven. Outraged, the high priest accuses Him of blasphemy, and the council condemns Him to death. Jesus is then mocked, beaten, and insulted. This passage highlights the injustice of the trial and Jesus’ unwavering commitment to truth.
