Abraham's Obedience
May 31, 2026 • Chris Cooper
Hebrews 11:8–10 highlights Abraham’s faith as obedience without full clarity, endurance as a pilgrim on earth, and hope fixed on God’s promised, eternal city. Abraham obeyed God’s call to leave his homeland even though he didn’t know where he was going, showing faithful obedience rooted in trust rather than certainty. He lived as a stranger in the land God promised, dwelling in tents and waiting patiently because his hope wasn’t in earthly settlement but in God’s promise. Ultimately, he looked forward to the heavenly city—a permanent, God‑built home with lasting foundations.
