The Purpose of Serving
In “The Purpose of Service,” we look at 1 Peter 4:7–11 and discover how God calls His people to live with urgency, love deeply, welcome others gladly, and serve with the gifts He provides. Peter reminds us that the end of all things is near, and because of that, our lives should be marked by clear-minded prayer, earnest love, and practical ministry to one another.
This message unpacks what it means to be stewards of God’s varied grace—using our abilities, time, and resources not for self‑promotion but for the good of the church and the glory of Christ. Whether speaking, serving, encouraging, or helping, every act becomes worship when done “by the strength that God supplies.”
The sermon challenges us to see service not as a task but as a purpose—a calling rooted in God’s grace and aimed at His glory. When the church lives this way, the world sees Christ more clearly.
