Evil on Display

Today we are in Matthew 27:27-44. This scripture recounts the brutal mocking and crucifixion of Jesus. Roman soldiers strip Him, place a scarlet robe and a crown of thorns on His head, and mock Him as “King of the Jews.” They beat Him and lead Him to Golgotha, where He is crucified between two criminals. As He hangs on the cross, passersby, religious leaders, and even the criminals ridicule Him, challenging Him to save Himself if He truly is the Son of God. It’s a harrowing scene of humiliation and suffering, yet it underscores Jesus’ unwavering submission to God’s redemptive plan.
