A MUCH BETTER COVENANT

Hebrews 8 explains that Jesus is the superior High Priest who serves in the true heavenly sanctuary, not an earthly copy. The chapter emphasizes that His priesthood brings a better covenant—one established on better promises. Quoting Jeremiah 31, the author highlights that this new covenant transforms people from the inside out: God writes His law on their hearts, grants intimate knowledge of Himself, and provides full forgiveness of sins. Because the new covenant has arrived in Christ, the old one is now obsolete and fading away.
